All four releases on offer are LTS, meaning long-term support releases. Ubuntu 24.04 “Noble Numbat” is the newest and covers fresh deployments; 22.04 “Jammy Jellyfish” is still very widely used; 20.04 and 18.04 are there for older fleets whose standard support has ended and which now fall under the extended maintenance Canonical publishes.
The choice you make at checkout is not final: a reinstall from the client area lets you move between releases, or to a different distribution, whenever you need to.

Ubuntu is the Linux distribution with the best online documentation coverage: with few exceptions, any serious piece of server software publishes Ubuntu installation instructions, and often an official repository. If you are new to running a server, or you simply want to follow a guide without having to adapt it, it is the shortest path between placing an order and having a service up.
LTS releases come out every two years, in April of even years, with five years of standard support. That is the right rhythm for a server: slow enough that you are not permanently migrating, fast enough that the PHP, Python, PostgreSQL or Node.js versions shipped by the distribution stay usable without third-party repositories. Ubuntu shares its base with Debian, so apt commands and the configuration file layout are identical.
Network transparency
Ping, MTR and traceroute run live on our network, over IPv4 and IPv6. Measure the route from your own connection - before you pay.
Ubuntu is the default choice for most application deployments, and by far the most requested.
Node.js, Laravel, Django or Rails behind Nginx. The versions shipped with a recent LTS suit the majority of projects, and vendor repositories fill in the rest.
It is the distribution most orchestration tools and CI runners target first. Official installation guides are written for it, which saves you the adaptation work.
Plesk, CyberPanel or Coolify. Nearly all of these panels advertise Ubuntu LTS compatibility, generally on the two most recent releases, and install through the vendor's own script.
Scientific Python stacks and compute libraries document their installation on Ubuntu before any other system. NVMe storage helps during dataset loading phases.
The operating system is installed when you order and can be reinstalled from the client area at any time, at no cost and without changing plan. If you are undecided, nothing is locked in: the machine is the same, only the starting image changes.
Choosing a release, long-term support and reinstalling.
Ubuntu 24.04 for a new project: it is the most recent LTS, so the best covered over time. Ubuntu 22.04 if your tooling or control panel does not list it as supported yet. 20.04 and 18.04 only make sense for reproducing an existing setup as-is.
