For MetaTrader 4/5, a Windows Standard VPS with at least 2 GB RAM suits a light bot; plan for 4 GB or more for multiple instances, heavy indicators or demanding Expert Advisors. Pick a datacenter close to your broker (often Paris or Frankfurt for Europe) to reduce execution latency.
Change the default RDP port, enable the Windows firewall, enforce strong passwords and NLA (Network Level Authentication). Restrict allowed IPs when possible, keep Windows Server updated and consider a VPN or WireGuard in front of RDP instead of exposing it publicly.
Choose the datacenter closest to your RDP users or broker: Paris for France, Frankfurt for Central Europe, Ashburn for the United States, and so on. For multi-region teams, deploy several Windows VPS instances or use a centralized VPN.
