Fair Use Policy

This policy defines reasonable and fair use of network bandwidth on our hosting services (VPS, dedicated servers, web hosting and related services) to preserve connectivity quality for all customers.

Network fair use

Infrawire https://infrawire.net

Operated by WEDEPLOY SAS

1. Purpose and scope

This Fair Use Policy applies to every customer using services provided by WEDEPLOY SAS, trading as Infrawire. It primarily covers bandwidth and network throughput. It supplements our Terms and Conditions. CPU, RAM and storage limits remain defined by the subscribed plan and are not covered by this policy.

2. General principle

Our plans include generous network connectivity (up to 10 Gbps depending on the plan) for standard hosting: websites, applications, APIs, backups, game servers or technical services. The network is shared among many customers. Each service must generate traffic proportionate to its normal use, without persistently saturating the link or disrupting connectivity for others.

3. Acceptable network use

The following are considered compliant from a bandwidth perspective, including:

  • Standard web traffic (HTTP/HTTPS) for showcase sites, e-commerce, blogs, CMS and web applications.
  • API traffic, backends, databases and synchronisation with volumes consistent with service activity.
  • Game servers, voice (TeamSpeak, etc.) or real-time services with throughput suited to the hosted community size.
  • Backups, file transfers or replication on an occasional basis, without permanent high-volume inbound or outbound flows.
  • Software updates, deployments and temporary traffic spikes linked to a real audience.
  • Occasional and reasonable network load tests without lasting impact on shared capacity.

4. Prohibited or abusive network use

The following activities are strictly prohibited or considered bandwidth abuse on any plan:

  • Intentional and continuous link saturation (permanent benchmarking, artificial traffic generation, non-occasional stress testing).
  • Streaming, IPTV, file distribution or public CDN origins generating traffic disproportionate to the plan.
  • Open public proxies, VPNs or relays, connectivity resale or unauthorised transit.
  • Spam, phishing, botnets, DDoS attacks or any malicious traffic.
  • Port scanning, brute force or hostile network activity against third-party systems.
  • Illegal traffic or use contrary to our Terms, including prohibited content or repeated abuse reports.
  • Circumventing network limits or commercially exploiting included bandwidth without a suitable plan.
  • Any network use contrary to applicable law.

Immediate action may apply

In case of bandwidth abuse or illegal traffic, Infrawire may throttle, suspend or terminate the service without notice, filter relevant traffic and report facts to competent authorities. No refund will be due in case of serious breach.

5. Bandwidth and network throughput

A plan advertising 10 Gbps (or any other speed) refers to port capacity, not permission to consume that throughput permanently. Fair use assumes traffic compatible with standard hosting, inbound and outbound.

Infrawire monitors traffic metrics (throughput, volume, patterns). Abnormal or repeated network use may trigger notification, rate limiting, port restriction or migration to a more suitable plan (dedicated server, committed bandwidth, etc.).

  • Traffic must match the hosted service and reasonably expected audience.
  • Temporary spikes are acceptable; sustained high throughput requires a dedicated plan or prior agreement.
  • Heavy outbound traffic (cloud backups, public mirrors, large file distribution) should be sized with our sales team.
  • IP addresses may be limited, filtered or suspended when network abuse is reported by third parties or detected on our infrastructure.

6. Enforcement measures

Depending on severity and recurrence, Infrawire may:

  • Contact the customer to request correction within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Apply temporary technical limits (rate limiting, quotas, partial suspension).
  • Suspend or terminate the service, with or without refund per applicable Terms.
  • Charge handling fees for network incidents or reported abuse attributable to the customer.

7. Policy updates

Infrawire may update this Fair Use Policy at any time. The current version is the one published on infrawire.net. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance of the updated version.
