Every registration includes a full DNS zone editor in your client area. Keep in mind that DNS propagation is not instant: after you update a record, resolvers around the world refresh their caches progressively, which can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 24-48 hours depending on the TTL you set. Lowering the TTL a day before a planned migration is the easiest way to shorten that window and switch traffic to a new server almost seamlessly.
Moving a name you already own is straightforward. Unlock it at your current registrar, request the EPP code (also called the auth or transfer code), then start the transfer from our order form and paste that code in. Make sure the administrative contact email on the WHOIS record is one you can access, since the confirmation request is sent there.
Most transfers complete within 5 to 7 days, the standard window during which the losing registrar can release the name early or let the timer run out. Your website and email keep working the whole time because the DNS zone is untouched. As required by ICANN rules, a transfer also adds one full year of registration on top of your current expiry date, so you never lose paid time.
A .com remains the safest choice for an international audience: it is the extension people type by default and it carries no geographic signal. If your customers are mostly in one country, a ccTLD such as .fr, .de or .co.uk tells search engines exactly which market you serve and often improves local rankings, at the cost of being less intuitive for visitors elsewhere.
